IMIS offers three commercial models for MariWeb — Hosted, Bespoke, and Perpetual — each designed to match different operational requirements, procurement preferences, and long-term ownership strategies.
IMIS has three commercial models that can be deployed according to a customer's needs. The primary advantage of the Hosted MariWeb and Perpetual MariWeb offerings is that IMIS is responsible for all technical activities with regard to system supply, support, upgrades and monitoring. This reduces risk and cost, and ensures a higher level of service — allowing the customer to focus on the delivery of maritime services.
IMIS supports its Hosted MariWeb and PortWeb environments on a 24/7 basis, with its DevOps team ensuring that the best possible support is available at all times and that any issues are resolved in the shortest possible time, significantly reducing operating risk and cost.
For all commercial models, IMIS configures the MariWeb system to satisfy the technical specification and operational requirements of the customer, normally confirmed in a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT). Where MariWeb is installed on customer-owned hardware or cloud environments, a Critical Design Review, FAT and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedure is followed.

Customer owns the perpetual software licence. Installed on customer infrastructure. IMIS provides L1/L2 training and 24/7 Level 3 support under contract.
Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) arrangement. The latest MariWeb version transfers free of charge to the customer at contract end. 24/7 monitored and maintained by IMIS throughout.
With the Hosted MariWeb commercial model, IMIS provides the compliant MariWeb application and monitors the system on a 24/7 basis using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection.
Where better than 99.5% availability is required, the Hosted MariWeb system is installed with redundant capability for all primary services — data collection, processing, storage, distribution and display. The Hosted MariWeb system in the UK is a private cloud with off-site storage for compressed AIS data and customer configuration data.
The Hosted MariWeb system is a multi-tenant environment, but edge nodes (national or port) can be configured for single-customer sole use. All historical Hosted MariWeb data (beyond 30 days) is stored in a resilient CEPH Storage Area Network in the UK. As new features and services become available, the Hosted MariWeb system is upgraded and the new services are made available to all IMIS customers.
With the Bespoke MariWeb commercial model, IMIS hands over a compliant and fully configured software installation. The customer owns the software licence for the version of MariWeb supplied in perpetuity. The guarantee period of 12 months begins after the SAT or beneficial use of the system.
IMIS trains the customer to provide Level 1 and Level 2 support. IMIS then provides 24/7 Level 3 support, normally via a VPN connection. Depending on customer requirements, this can include 24/7 monitoring and proactive status updates. At the end of the guarantee period, IMIS can be contracted to provide ongoing maintenance and support. Should additional features or an upgrade to the latest version be required, IMIS will provide a quotation.
With the Perpetual MariWeb commercial model, the MariWeb system is supplied under a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) arrangement. The upgraded MariWeb system is transferred free of charge to the customer at the end of the contract period.
IMIS supports the Perpetual MariWeb system by monitoring it on a 24/7 basis. All new software features and updates applicable to the customer's operations are first exposed on the IMIS sandbox system. When the customer is content, the update is migrated to the production environment. The software has a perpetual licence, and at contract end, the final version of the MariWeb application becomes the property of the customer. The customer can then choose to maintain their own system or continue with IMIS under either Level 3 software support or a renewed Perpetual MariWeb arrangement.
