IMIS worked with SFMX to deploy its Maritime Information Management System to satisfy SFMX's port information management requirements. The deployment integrates AIS vessel tracking with manual vessel data entry, existing ships and voyage data, and SFMX customer contacts into a single operational environment.
This integration of AIS tracking data with port operational data represents an early example of what is now known as a Port Information Management System (PIMS) — combining real-time vessel tracking with port business data for a comprehensive operational picture.
