IMIS Participates in AIS Centric Conference in Guayaquil, Ecuador

In mid-July 2013, IMIS hosted a maritime technology seminar in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Speakers included ORBCOMM, Kelvin Hughes, WildAid, InfoPront and the WWF. The seminar was opened by Señora Doctora Maria del Pilar Cornejo de Grunauer, Secretaria Nacional De Gestión de Riesgo, República del Ecuador.

The audience exceeded 100 participants. Topics covered included solid state radars for coastal surveillance, AIS tracking for all vessel sizes, satellite AIS in fisheries monitoring, artisanal vessel monitoring in Ecuador, maritime management technology evolution, MPA applications, and system integration.
