IMIS deployed MariWeb version 6 for ORBCOMM to enable the processing, storage and distribution of AIS data using the IALA Recommended Logical Shore Station configuration.
The MariWeb system is designed to handle the specific challenges of satellite AIS data, including the high volume of messages, inherent delays and the duplicate reports that are characteristic of S-AIS data ingestion. ORBCOMM's satellite AIS service covers the global ocean, providing vessel tracking data for ships beyond the range of terrestrial AIS networks.
