IMIS has joined the datAcron Horizon 2020 European Union research and innovation programme as a partner. The datAcron project focuses on big data analytics for moving objects — specifically maritime vessels and aircraft — including scalable analytics for trajectory analysis, event detection and prediction using AIS and other data sources.
IMIS contributes its maritime information systems expertise and AIS data processing capabilities to the consortium, which includes universities, research institutions and industry partners from across Europe. The Horizon 2020 programme has nearly €80 billion in funding over seven years.
